Who we are

Friends of the community Inc. is a not for profit organisation founded in October 2006 by Serena Anderson and Norm Dale. Based on a vision of investing in our future by building a healthy, sustainable and enterprising community and an obvious lack of funding in aged, disabled, disadvantaged and special needs children.

We are not affiliated with any religious group but are prepared to assist all those in need regardless of religion, colour and ethnic background.

Friends of the Community are staffed entirely of volunteers we run a small food business with all profits being returned to the needy community.

We are a friendly group of individuals with a strong sense of community. We enjoy what we do and have a great time at each event we cater at. We consider ourselves as one big family. We have all been trained in food safety and some have had first aid training. We take pride in our cleanliness and quality of food and customer service provided.

We welcome any donations and hold a Charity License.

Our aims

To support the interest and preference of the community by providing resources that promote independence, social interaction and healthy attitudes towards ageing, disabilities and cultural diversity. To provide opportunity for information sharing and education in a variety of different community settings.

Services

IMGP2801We supply a range of services to the community; we have a licensed food van where we sell a variety of fresh healthy food using only locally produced ingredients. A menu is available to view all the foods we offer. We are flexible and would not compete with other Community groups by selling similar products at the same venue.

Our brightly painted Van is ideally suited to compliment your functions such as Carols by Candle Light, Fairs, P&C Fundraisers and Concerts.

We supply all our own equipment from marquees, barbecues, bain-marie (keeping the food warm), coolers to generators if power is not available.

We can either run the Sausage sizzle ourselves or in conjunction with you on a share basis.
On a share basis we will supply and setup all the equipment and the food, you will supply the labour and we will share the profits equally,

Our members can assist in training on the day of how to produce each food item and some information on food safety as all our members have been fully trained in this area.
